We’re pleased to say that the clubs youth structure has joined the Junior Premier League.
Following a successful season for our youth teams, where two more youth players got minutes for the first team in the Southern League, the club have now entered an Under 17 team in the Junior Premier League for the 2018/19 season.
The Junior Premier League is the league that sits between grass roots football and academy football, creating a pathway for players to play at a high level and develop.
We are currently recruiting players for the Under 17 JPL team with trials being run on June 16th. Interested players should register at www.cinderfordtownyouthfc.co.uk/trials
The very best players who impress at the trials and get selected will also get a chance to train with the senior team during pre season, with Paul Michael confirming that if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.
First team manager Paul Michael had the following to say on the upcoming JPL trials “The best players will be invited to train with the first team during pre-season & fight for place in the team regardless of age.”
He went on to say “You could go to bigger clubs but nowhere in the Southern League or higher will the opportunities from youth to 1st team be greater”
Cinderford Town are currently in talks with the Junior Premier League regarding entering additional age groups at the moment. A full statement on that will be put out by the club following those discussions.
In the meantime, if you are a current Under 16 (or exceptional Under 15 player) and have ambitions to play at Southern League level or above then please register at www.cinderfordtownyouthfc.co.uk/trials and the club will be in touch.
