Only two competitive matches this weekend with both Under 11 teams in action. The Under 11 Colts kicked off the weekend with a 15-0 win against Wotton Rovers to move top of the mid Glos league, goals from Harvey Edwards x4, Jake Wassell x4, Harry Wilkins x3, Jason Heaphy x3 and Aaron Singleton. Jason Heaphy also picking up the man of the match award for another confident display.
Sunday saw our other Under 11 team go head to head with the only other unbeaten team in the league, Longlevens Lions in the Gloucester Under 12 league. Longlevens ran out 3-2 winners in a game that Cinderford will probably feel they had the better of, Taylor Blaby grabbing both of the Cinderford goals and Jimmy Wicks picking up the man of the match award.
It’s been a hugely impressive season for both Under 11 teams so far, who continue to improve under coaches Brian Burke, Steve Blaby and Danny Poole.
Elsewhere there were some great performances in our non competitive games with the Under 8s facing Monmouth Town in a friendly, the Under 8 Colts impressing yet again against Stonehouse Town and the Under 10s facing Michinhampton.
