A big congratulations to our Under 12s who made it through to the Cheltenham League Cup Final last weekend with a 2-0 win over last season’s league champions Southside Lions. Two late goals from Isaac Phelps and captain Finley Jones putting the team in to the final where they will face league leaders FC Lakeside at Bishops Cleeve FC on Sunday May 22nd.

The Under 12s cup run has seen some pretty comprehensive results against some decent teams, having received a bye in the first round they went on to face FC Barometrics in the 2nd round and ran out comfortable 4-0 winners. Top goalscorer Brandon Donnelly grabbing 2 goals, Joe D’Ambrogio and Finley Jones grabbing the other two.

The 1/4 finals saw them face Leckhampton Spitfires who sat 2nd place in division 2 in a potentially tricky fixture. It turned out to be a fairly one sided match, Brandon Donnelly continuing his fine form with a hattrick, Taylor Blaby grabbing two goals and further strikes from Joe D’Ambrogio, Isaac Phelps and Josh Horrobin.

The final was originally planned to take place at Cheltenham’s Whaddon Road but poor pitch conditions and a lack of availability unfortunately have led to the final being played at Bishops Cleeve instead.

Cinderford Town will go in to the match full of confidence after what has been a great first season for the side in the Cheltenham league.
